ISESCO and Interfaith Dialogue (Rome 2016)
ISESCO Director General to participate in 7th International High-level Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue, Rome
Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), will take part in the 7thInternational High-level Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue which will be organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (Center for Learning, Tolerance, Dialogue and Understanding), in cooperation with the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI), at the Italian Senate, in Rome, over the period of 27-29 January 2016.
The Meeting will tackle a number of topics on the role of interfaith dialogue in responding to radicalization and extremism, dissemination of a culture of peace, identification of the sources of radicalization and violent extremism and counter-measures, and the role of the society and the State in reinforcing spiritual cohesion among followers of religions.
Will participate in this meeting the President of the Italian Senate, the former President of Italy, the Presidents of Bulgaria and Macedonia, the former presidents of Latvia, Romania, Poland, Croatia and Albania, the former Secretary General of the Arab League, the Director of Alexandrina Bibliotheca and a host of ministers, senior personalities and international experts in religious affairs.
The Director General will deliver an address at the second panel on “Conflict and Peace within Religions: What should political leaders learn from History that is relevant to today’s issues?”
